On a sunny day in Taipei, the AFAR Magazine team reached out to me regarding an article by journalist Clarissa Wei on Taiwanese 熱炒 (stir-fry). They envisioned vibrant and playful lettering gracing each page and extended an invitation for me to collaborate on art directing the layout design of the article, as well as crafting custom lettering and illustrations. AFAR is a travel magazine for the thoughtful traveler who values meaningful experiences with people, culture, food, stories, and traditions.

The process of creating hand lettering and illustrations was immensely enjoyable as it allowed me to capture the lively essence, bold flavors, and diverse culinary landscape of Taiwanese food.
